The newly-Kickstarted Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse has a new trailer!
Revolution recently released a pre-alpha trailer for Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse, the latest game in the magnificent Broken Sword series. The trailer doesn’t tell us much, expect that there’ll be conspiracies, mysteries, eagles and gun-toting pizza delivery men.
I am a big fan of the Broken Sword games. I was first introduced to the hit adventure game series through the Director’s Cut edition of the first game Broken Sword: Shadow Of The Templars, which is now one of my favorite games. No other series manages to combine mystery, action and comedy quite like Broken Sword, and I am quite excited for Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse.
The one thing that’s bugging me is that the character models are in 3D, which doesn’t really blend well with the hand-painted backgrounds. The animations also look a bit stiff and odd, and overall I’m just not a fan of the designs. It’s a shame that they’re eschewing the wonderful hand-drawn look of the Director’s Cut versions of Shadow Of The Templars and The Smoking Mirror (or heck, for this particular style, but hey, the game is only in pre-alpha and perhaps I shouldn’t judge it too harshly.
Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse is slated for release on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS and Playstation Vita this coming winter, and once it comes out you can look forward to my review of it right here on Pxlbyte. You can check out the developer’s website here.
