SUPERHOT is a time-bending FPS that’s well worth a try.
Free Game Friday is a weekly series where Wil, often referred to as Saviour Of The Universe by you puny mortals, recommends a free game for you lovely readers to kick off the weekend with!
This year’s edition of the 7DFPS challenge has resulted in some interesting takes on the first-person shooter genre, and the episodic game SUPERHOT is definitely one of those.
When the player is moving it plays like a regular shooter, but whenever you stand still the game goes into extreme slow-motion, allowing you to target enemies more precisely and dodge incoming gunfire with greater ease. This makes the game quite easy, but it’s nonetheless fun to play. Running towards enemies and watching their bullets pass by you in slow-mo is pretty cool.
There are currently three out of four episodes available and playing them will only take a few minutes.
You can play the game here, but beware that it seems to mess with Google Chrome a bit (or perhaps it’s just my computer). Still, SUPERHOT is definitely worth a try.
