Tomb Raider’s recent reboot brought a lot of changes to Lara Croft’s world. The landscape, and her appearance took on a much grittier and realistic look compared to previous games in this franchise.
The latest Lara Croft has body proportions and a wardrobe that are more in synch with actual tomb raiding. Tank tops, earth tones, and chunky boots are still her key pieces, but fan service isn’t the purpose of her outfit anymore. In 2013’s Tomb Raider, Lara is dressed in a practical outfit, but with a bit of an edge.
This casual look is very easy to achieve. Lara has a clean, natural face (before it gets streaked with mud), and a BB cream is a great way to create an even complexion. Aveno’s Clear Complexion BB Cream is hypoallergenic and SPF 30, so no matter how rough the conditions are, your skin will be protected. Urban Decay’s Naked Palette has everything you need for natural looking eyeshadow. With 12 shades, the perfect naked eye can always be achieved. Top it all off with some Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, and your clean Lara Croft face is finished.
Lara’s classic tank top is still around in this year’s Tomb Raider. Tank tops can really be found anywhere, but the Gap’s ribbed tanks are especially soft and comfortable. As the game progresses, you can see the effects of the elements on Lara. She gets dirty, soaking wet, and covered in bandages. If you want to go for a look that says “I’ve been adventuring”, then try some ripped skinny jeans with your Lara outfit. Earth toned jeans would also be a great pick for this look. Dr Martens’ Carlita work boots are perfect for a Lara Croft outfit. They look the part, and they zip up, so it won’t be a struggle to get them off. Accessorizing for this outfit was very easy. In the game, Lara is only seen wearing a simple necklace. Forever21’s arrow necklace is a cute nod to Lara’s archery skills, or the horn necklace can help achieve a bit of edge to the outfit.
